The Melon Car, the mobile mascot of the Lincoln/Logan Chamber of Commerce
for nearly 15 years, is being retired on April 12 at 10 a.m. at
the city firehouse in Lincoln. The chamber is donating the car to the Lincoln
Fire Department to use in extrication training for the department. The
chamber board of directors felt that this was a fitting end to the car that has served the
chamber in Logan County so well for so many
years. Everyone is invited out at 10 a.m. Friday for a simple
ceremony to hand over the keys and ownership of the Melon Car.
