            [April 20, 2013] 
            SPRINGFIELD -- The Union Pacific 
			Railroad, in conjunction with the Illinois Department of 
			Transportation, will host an information session on Tuesday from 2 
			to 4 p.m. at the Springfield Hilton. The event will provide details 
			about general contracting and subcontracting opportunities, scope of 
			work, qualifications required, and schedule and timing for 
			contractor bid submissions. | 
			
            |  Union Pacific, in conjunction with IDOT, is upgrading about 215 miles of 
existing track from Chicago to St. Louis as part of the High-Speed Intercity 
Passenger Rail program. ___ Who: Illinois Department of Transportation and Union Pacific Railroad 
officials  What: Union Pacific and IDOT representatives will be available to answer 
questions and provide bid qualification information for high-speed rail 
contractor bid submissions. Union Pacific Railroad estimates that there will be 
$154 million for contract services from 2013 through 2017 to complete work 
between Joliet and Wood River.  When: Tuesday, April 23, 2-4 p.m.
