Saturday morning, the large auditorium at Lincoln Christian Church
was transformed into one of the most beautiful places
one would ever imagine. The occasion was the 10th annual
Spring for Tea, a day when ladies of Logan County put on their best and sit down to tea at tables that are so beautifully
decorated, it takes your breath away.
The event included tea, of course, and a wide
variety of dainty foods designed for such an occasion. Guests
were served by several of the ladies of the church and the "men in
black," a group of fellows who donned their handsome black suits and
spent the noontime hour serving the ladies.
According to Carolyn Neal, Lincoln Christian
Church is celebrating their 30th year of Harvest of Talents. The yearlong fundraising effort begins with the
			ladies' tea, which
is in its 10th year. The next large event is expected to be
the Princess Tea for little girls. All of these activities
lead up to the highlight of the year, the October Harvest of Talents
for World Hunger Day at the church. That daylong event offers
a wide variety of activities from early morning to late evening.
In its first 29 years, the Harvest of Talents
fundraisers have brought in a total of $1,718,145.23. All the
proceeds from the events go directly to feeding programs,
orphanages and missions throughout the world. The local group
works directly with International Disaster Emergency Service.
Here is just a small sampling of all that was
part of this year's event. Enjoy the photos, and if it moves
you to attend next year, you will most certainly be welcome.
