                Illinois country grain prices were 
				higher on Thursday afternoon. 
				 
              
                Stronger wheat values were 
				supported by technical buying at the Board of Trade and concern 
				with how much damage was done to the western wheat crop due to 
				freezingtemperatures.
 
              
                Corn was given a boost from weekly 
				export sales figures and the sales announcements this morning by 
				the USDA. 
				 
              
                The USDA announced the sale of 
				240,000 tonnes of new crop US corn to an unknown destination and 
				a sale of 300,000 tonnes to China.
 				In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted 
				shelled corn bids were 6 to 10 cents higher at 6.40-6.56.  
              
                Soybean bids were 21 to 24 cents 
				higher at 14.17-14.39.
 				In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn 
				bids were 6 cents higher at 6.42-6.57.  
              
                Soybean bids were 27 to 30 cents 
				higher at 14.42-14.57.
 				In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 5 to 6 
				cents higher at 6.33-6.69.  
              
                Soybean bids were 16 cents higher 
				at 14.40-14.61. 
				 
              
                Wheat bids were 12 cents higher at 
				6.96-7.12.
