Anyone who has spent any time at the Logan
County Fair in the last several years has probably at one time or
another seen this fellow walking about, shaking hands with folks,
thanking them for coming to the fair and sitting down to yarn a
			tale for a few minutes.
Dean Bruns has been involved in livestock
shows and the Logan County Fair since he was a youngster. He
began as a hired hand for a neighbor who showed cattle all around
the state. In time he began volunteering at the Logan County
			Fair.

He served as a superintendent in the livestock
barns, has been on the fair board for many many years and has been
the board president for the last several years.
In 2006 he was recognized at the Illinois
State Fair as the County Fair Person of the Year. He was
nominated by his board for the honor.
If you see Dean out and about this week, give
him a shout. He'll very much enjoy spending a few minutes with you.
On Thursday morning, Bruns spent quite a bit
of time at the beef show, one of his favorite places to be during
the fair. He took the microphone for a moment,
congratulating all the youngsters on their showmanship and the
quality of animals in the arena.
