Little Miss Logan County Celia Cross stands beside her favorite picture at the Lincoln Art Institute Thursday evening.

The piece was done by Sheralyn Bolton of Lincoln and was a blue-ribbon winner at the 2013 Logan County Fair.

Celia said she liked this picture best because of the pretty bright red flowers in it.

The art institute is featuring a wide variety of blue-ribbon winners right now, so if you didn't get a chance to see them at the fair, you have another opportunity.

The show will run through Sept. 7.

Devin Biggs caught this dramatic photo of a storm moving over Lincoln on Wednesday evening. The shot is taken from the southwest corner of the downtown square, looking north on Kickapoo. This front brought with it some high winds and rain, though the rain was scattered, with some areas getting well over an inch and others getting just a few tenths of an inch.

President Barack Obama will bestow the nation's highest civilian honor on Winfrey and former President Bill Clinton later this year. Clinton and Winfrey will receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom at the White House along with 14 others, including former Sen. Richard Lugar and women's rights activist Gloria Steinem.
