[December 02, 2013]      Send a link to a friend MOUNT PULASKI — The upstairs of the Mount
Pulaski Courthouse is a wonderland of Christmas trees right now. There are over 20 trees all decked out and ready for you to carry
home if you are the highest bidder on Dec. 7. The trees have been decorated
by various Mount Pulaski businesses and citizens as a fundraiser for
			the Mount Pulaski Courthouse
			Foundation. A few
activities are being planned for Dec. 7 at the courthouse, including a live auction of
the trees, with Mount Pulaski auctioneer Mike Maske doing the
calling. Some of the trees are
whimsical and clearly representative of the business that donated
them. For collectors of odds and ends, these would make great
trees. There is a tree with tractors on it, courtesy of Cross
Brothers; a tree decorated with dog treats, courtesy of D'Tails; and
even a tree with dollars and coins, courtesy of Farmers Bank.
			 In addition, there are trees
that are simply beautiful, such as the one donated by the Strouds and
the one from Stahl's Furniture.  Some are modern and unique,
such as the ones by Saddie's Secret Place, Botanica and Pizza Man. And yet others would be great
for a kid's room at Christmastime, such as the one from Deron Powell
State Farm that features snowmen and a tin truck, the one from Salt
Creek Attic that hosts several gingerbread ornaments, or the one
from the Mount Pulaski Library that features tiny storybooks
hanging from its branches. Regardless of what your taste
might be, there must surely be something for everyone at this
fabulous fundraiser, including an Abe Lincoln-themed tree donated by
the Abraham Lincoln Tourism Bureau of Logan County. If you haven't been over to
see the trees, it would be worth your while to go take a look, and
certainly worth your while to attend on Dec. 7 and see if you
might be the lucky winning bidder.
