The Lincolns weren't the only ones celebrating twice on Saturday. Tourism director Geoff Ladd attended the Herndon presentation in Mount Pulaski, then rushed to Lincoln to join in that celebration as well
Before guests were served cake with a choice of punch, coffee or water, Carroll Richards asked a blessing on the day's events.
