Saturday lunchtime saw yet another amazing
food fundraiser at Friendship Manor in Lincoln.
The Humane Society of Logan County was serving
up chili and veggie soup along with hot dogs to hungry customers.
The annual fundraiser is a big one for the
HSLC, which runs a shelter and offers a second chance to animals
			that
have been separated from their first families.

Animals come to the HSLC for a variety of
reasons. Some have been mistreated or abused, some are no
longer wanted, and sometimes they come because a family has had a
change of circumstances and can no longer care for them. Regardless of how they get there, once the dozens of puppies, dogs,
cats and kittens arrive at the shelter, they are treated with love,
cared for with medical attention, good nutrition, and given a
comfortable place to live while they await their new "forever home."
