		Monday
evening Bruce Carmitchel took his seat at the Lincoln City Council for
the first time. Carmitchel was appointed by Mayor Keith Snyder to
finish out the term of the late Alderman Buzz Busby. A selection
committee consisting of the precinct committeemen in the new Lincoln
City Ward 1 will interview interested and qualified candidates for the
position of Ward 1 alderman for the city of Lincoln. That
candidate will be added to the February election ballot. Carmitchel's term will run through April 30. He is eligible to
apply for the opportunity to run as Ward 1 alderman as well. Read
more about this in the stories below.
