Train
passengers and railway staff push a train car in their effort to rescue a woman
who fell and got stuck between the car and the platform while getting off at
Japan Railway Minami Urawa Station in Saitama, near Tokyo, on Monday morning. A Yomiuri Shimbun photographer who happened to be there said there was
a big applause when the woman in her mid-30s, who fell to her waist, was safely
rescued without any serious injuries. About 40 people helped the staff who were
pushing the car upon hearing an announcement that a passenger had been trapped.

In
this July 28, 2005, file photo, U.S. singer Tina Turner and her German partner
Erwin Bach, right, arrive at a gala in Basel, Switzerland. Turner, a legendary rock
singer, has married her longtime beau in a Swiss
civil ceremony. The mayor of Kuesnacht, the wealthy Zurich-area community where
Turner lives, says that she and Bach, a music executive, were married several
weeks ago at the registry office. Markus Ernst told The Associated Press on
Thursday that it was a routine ceremony, ahead of a private
celebration on Sunday at the couple's home.
