[June 11, 2013]      Send a link to a friend This past weekend was the
annual Nathan Turner youth fishing day at Hickory Lane Campground,
Atlanta. The annual event, sponsored by Lincoln D.A.R.E. and
the Lincoln Park District, honors the late Nathan
Turner, a young Lincoln native who enjoyed fishing. He
died unexpectedly in February of 2009 at the age of 29. This week, Nancy Turner,
Nathan's mother, shared a few comments about the day with Roy Logan
of the park district, who shared them with LDN. Mrs. Turner wrote:
			"The fishing derby went great!
The weather was perfect. We had approximately 100 attend including
60 children. Donuts were provided at registration.
Lunch included hot dogs, Goldfish crackers, watermelon,
strawberries, and chocolate fish cookies for dessert. Every child
went home with a squirt gun or frisbee.
