			Emergency and fire related activities Emergency Runs for 
			April 2013 included the Lincoln Firefighters responding to 207 
			alarms; 5 structure fires, 23 service calls, 6 motor vehicle 
			accidents 18 alarm activations and 6 alarms for service that were 
			cancelled during response.  
			Fire related runs: 61  
			EMS related runs: 140 Rescue related 
			runs: 6 Non-Emergency 
			activities Lincoln Fire 
			Department received the Watermelon car from the Lincoln Logan 
			Chamber of Commerce to utilize for automobile rescue extrication. 
			The title for the car was received this week and plans will be put 
			into action to provide an informational scenario for the public. 
			Also new for the City of Lincoln Fire Department we will be adding 
			information to the City of Lincoln Facebook page weekly for 
			promoting our community and our services. 
			
			 Fire Inspectors 
			have been inspecting and conducting follow up inspections at; Super 
			8, The Century Building, Walgreens, Stacy's Pharmacy, Logan County 
			Health Department, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Kroger, First United 
			Methodist Church and CVS. Updates to the City ordinance on the 
			Office of the State Fire Marshals requirement to utilize the 2000 
			Life Safety Code for public safety will be completed.  Lieutenants have 
			conducted plan review updates at Xamis Ford, Lincoln Chrysler Dodge, 
			Albert Brothers and Ameren Cilco.

 Firefighter 
			Training Lincoln 
			firefighters trained on the following topics set up by the shift 
			Captains; Search and Rescue building markings preparing for storm 
			weather, Fire pump operations utilizing multiple hand lines and 
			different nozzle pressures, Trench Rescue Operations and Awareness, 
			Synthetic drug abuse and signs and symptoms. Training bulletins for 
			the month included topics on; fire scene documentation, incident 
			command responsibilities, and mental preparation for unimaginable 
			emergency operations and building construction fire wall parapet 
			alternative to be on the lookout for. Maintenance of the 
			station and apparatus Station repairs: 
			Oil changes and tire rotations on 5100 and 5106 were completed in 
			house, Hall door and ceiling fans have been purchased to install in 
			the fire station. An outrigger deployment sensor was serviced for 
			Truck 5102 and an air horn foot switch was replaced on Engine 5101. 
			Engine 5104 had an engine service light checked and reset for the 
			exhaust system, and the thermal camera and an electrical outlet were 
			installed. Safety Tip: 
			Make sure to have commercial building projects reviewed by Lincoln 
			Fire Inspectors and have a current building permit issued by the 
			Lincoln Building & Safety Office to assure that there are no 
			interruptions in the job.
