A ship carrying the U.K.'s three largest quay cranes (nearest camera), to be installed at the London Gateway deep-water container port, sails up the River Thames outside London, England, on Friday. The semi-automated quay cranes, manufactured by Shanghai's Zhenhua Port Machinery Co., have a height of 138 meters, and the boom has a reach that will allow it to pick up containers 25 rows across deck, beyond the width of the world's largest container ship. The container port, owned and operated by DP World and situated on the north bank of River Thames in Stanford-le-Hope, Essex, England, will start operations in the fourth quarter of this year with its first berth.
