            Annual Community Health Fair to be at the park district March 23  Send a link to a friend
 
			
            
            [March 16, 2013] 
            The annual Community Health Fair 
			will be on Saturday, March 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lincoln 
			Park District's Sports Center, 1400 Primm Road in Lincoln. Admission 
			is free and everyone is invited to attend. Nonperishable food items 
			will be accepted as donations for local food pantries.  | 
		
            |  Approximately 65 organizations will attend and educational displays 
			will be available. Health screenings will also be available, 
			including blood pressure, cholesterol, pulse oximetry, body fat 
			calculations, pH testing, blood typing, oral cancer, mental health 
			evaluations, spine and stress, and hemoglobin. Most screenings are 
			free of charge, except for the hemoglobin and cholesterol 
			screenings, which have a small fee. The Logan County Department of 
			Public Health's Environmental Health division will offer free 
			nitrate screenings for well water. Only private well water will be 
			screened. Individuals are invited to bring their own samples. Radon 
			test kits will also be available for a fee. 
			
			 Also, recyclable items will be collected, including unused and 
			unwanted medications, glass, cellphones, and printer cartridges. 
			Hard drive destruction and confidential paper shredding will be 
			sponsored by State Bank of Lincoln. Child and senior fingerprinting 
			will be offered, as well as car seat checks available by appointment 
			only.

			 The American Red Cross will conduct a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 
			1 p.m. during the health fair. First-time donors are welcome. Peggy's Place will provide healthy food choices for purchase 
			during the fair.  The health fair is sponsored by the Lincoln Park District and the 
			Logan County Department of Public Health. For more information,
