 "Thank you for the opportunity to serve and for the journey," he
told his fellow directors.
There were many rumblings and sad sighs from directors who will
miss his contributions.
Gleason has served the tourism bureau since its beginning in
April 1987, including years when he served on the Logan County Board
and acted as the board's liaison to the bureau. When he left the
county board, he was honored by the board for his work as liaison.
As for what he will be doing with his spare time, Gleason said
his plans are to continue writing letters to soldiers, which he has
done for the past 48 years.
