			State's Senior Health Insurance Program moves to Department on Aging 
			SPRINGFIELD -- Illinois Department on 
			Aging Director John K. Holton, Ph.D., announced this week that the 
			Senior Health Insurance Program is now administered by his 
			department. The program known at SHIP is a free statewide health 
			insurance counseling service for Medicare beneficiaries and their 
			caregivers. SHIP was previously under the Department of Insurance, 
			but the governor signed Executive Order 13-1, which transfers SHIP 
			to the Department on Aging, effective April 1.

			Lisa Madigan announced Wednesday that the House Human Services 
			Committee voted out a bill to establish vulnerable adult fatality

			disabled Illinois residents.

			CHICAGO -- Attorney General Lisa 
			Madigan and Secretary of State Jesse White took coordinated action

			selling insurance investment products to seniors.

            Area Agency on Aging to present Lunch and Learn at Oasis for family 
			caregivers 
			The Area Agency on Aging for 
			Lincolnland, in cooperation with Senior Citizens of Logan County, 
			has scheduled a Lunch and Learn program March 19 for informal 
			caregivers of older adults and grandparents and other relatives 
			raising children. Steve Iden, senior attorney with the Land of 
			Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation, will present information 
			regarding "Do I Need a Will and/or a Trust." The program will be 
			from noon to 1 p.m. at the Oasis Senior Center, 501 Pulaski St. in 
			Lincoln.
