URBANA -- The 15th annual Illinois Leadership
Conference is scheduled for June 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at
the Decatur Hotel and Conference Center in Decatur. The conference
is designed for anyone who is in a leadership position in a
community or organization, serving on a board of directors, working
on community projects or with committees, and seeking to manage and
			lead more effectively. |

            | "The conference theme is 'Put Your Assets to Work,'" said University
of Illinois Extension specialist Anne H. Silvis. "I'd say that
anyone looking to manage and lead more effectively using existing
resources would benefit from the information that will be presented
at this conference." Silvis said the conference will include
interactive workshops, a chance to learn practical skills, and
opportunities to network with community leaders and community "do-ers"
from across the state. "The workshop topics will include a community development clinic,
basic leadership skills, listening skills and techniques, issues
from Illinois elected officials, and a breakout session on
strategies to drive local engagement in community projects.," Silvis
said. "We'll end the day with a discussion addressing the practical
applications of the networking and learning." The conference keynote speaker is Timothy Moore, an author and
speaker with over three decades of experience in marketing, sales
and training. Moore is the owner and principal of DEAG Sales
Training and is editor of the online daily magazine Carolina
Business Connection in North Carolina's Research Triangle region.
Moore will share a framework to help understand generational
differences and how to find effective leadership strategies that
			will speak to all generations.
