            MOUNT PULASKI -- Allison Hickey 
			has been named May Senior-of-the-Month at Mount Pulaski High School. 
			Allison is the daughter of Charlie and Stacy Hickey of Mount 
			Pulaski. 
            Allison is the current president of National Honor Society. She has 
			volunteered through the organization, with activities at Vonderlieth 
			Living Center, the Mount Pulaski Fall Festival and the 5K run. |

			 She 
			also participated in Spanish Club for two years and Spirit Squad for 
			four years. As an athlete, Allison was a member of the varsity volleyball 
			team that finished second in state the last two years. She was 
			chosen for the Bloomington Pantagraph second team in volleyball and 
			was chosen for honorable mention by the Herald and Review. She was 
			chosen "Best Freshman Offensive Player" in volleyball in 2009, "Most 
			Hustle JV Player" in 2010 and earned the "Varsity Lady Topper" award 
			her junior year. Allison has been a four-year member of the FFA at Mount Pulaski 
			High School and is currently serving as FFA reporter. She has 
			participated in the land-use contest and has been on the livestock 
			judging team, which won second place at the Western Illinois 
			University competition. She served as secretary on the parliamentary 
			procedure team for two years and attended workshops on leadership 
			training and reporting. She has attended both the state and national 
			FFA conventions. 
			 She is a member of the Topper 4-H Club and has been club 
			president the past two years. She previously served as treasurer and 
			reporter, and has organized and participated in fundraisers for the 
			group.

			 Allison shows cattle year-round, including showings at the Logan 
			County Fair, Macon County Fair, Piatt County Fair, Illinois State 
			Fair and the Illinois Beef Expo. In addition to numerous other 
			awards, she received a first place with her Angus heifer at the 
			Illinois Beef Expo in 2013. She is a member of the American Angus 
			Association and the Illinois Junior Angus Association. She volunteers with her church youth group, does book work for 
			her family's farm and coaches club volleyball. Allison plans to attend Lincoln Land Community College as an ag 
			business major. She has earned an FFA scholarship and a scholarship 
			through the Heartland Beef Alliance. The Senior-of-the-Month program is co-sponsored by Johnson's Food 
			Center and Mount Pulaski Pharmacy. Monthly winners receive $50 
			toward education expenses and are eligible to compete for the $500 
			Senior-of-the-Year award.
