            Oasis Lunch and Learn: Area Agency on Aging for Lincolnland 
			announces program for family caregivers 
			In cooperation with Senior 
			Citizens of Logan County, the Area Agency on Aging for Lincolnland 
			has scheduled a Lunch and Learn program for informal caregivers of 
			older adults and for grandparents and other relatives raising 
			children. The program will be at the Oasis Senior Center, 501 
			Pulaski St. in Lincoln, on May 28 from noon to 1 p.m.

            Gov. Quinn proclaims May as Older Americans Month in Illinois Observance 
			highlights state's commitment to providing quality programs that 
			offer independent living and other protections to seniors 
			SPRINGFIELD -- Gov. Pat Quinn 
			has proclaimed May as Older Americans Month in Illinois and joins 
			the Illinois Department on Aging to honor more than 2 million adults 
			age 60 years or older who live in the state. The governor's 
			proclamation coincides with 
			the national observance. Since 1963, the observance each year in May 
			has proven a proud tradition in honoring the value that older adults 
			contribute to our communities.

			facilities in observance of Nursing Home Week Ombudsman 
			program protects standard of care to improve residents' quality of

			SPRINGFIELD -- In observance of 
			National Nursing Home Week, Illinois Department on Aging Director 
			John K. Holton, Ph.D., praises long-term care advocates and 
			caregivers. National Nursing Home Week, as promoted by the American 
			Health Care Association, runs the week after Mother's Day to honor 
			residents, family members, staff and volunteers who help nursing 
			home residents. This year's awareness week, which runs through May 
			18, stresses that residents should feel satisfied and staff should

            Elderly Service Officer of the Year nominations sought 
			CARBONDALE -- The 10th annual 
			award for Elderly Service Officer of the Year will be presented by 
			Attorney General Lisa Madigan's office at the 17th annual Illinois 
			TRIAD Conference Sept. 12-13 in East Peoria. Law enforcement 
			agencies, local elder abuse provider agencies, long-term care 
			regional ombudsman programs and Area Agencies on Aging, which work 
			with the most vulnerable older people, are invited to nominate an ESO from their area.  (Click
