S. Ill. man, 50, dies after being hit by a train

[November 15, 2013]  WEST FRANKFORT (AP) — A 50-year-old southern Illinois man has died after he was struck by a train.

WSIL-TV reports Carl F. Jackson died Thursday night after the accident in West Frankfort.

Franklin County Coroner Marty Leffler says an autopsy is planned.

WPSD-TV reports that Jackson went around the crossing gates and was struck by a southbound train.
