Monday evening, the
city council chambers at Lincoln City Hall were looking a little spiffier. Mayor Keith Snyder thanked Kathy Vinyard for working to find some very
affordable skirts for what he called the "World War II desks." In
addition, the chamber sound system has been repaired, making it possible for
everyone to hear the aldermen's discussions. Snyder thanked Alderman
Tom O'Donohue for getting this accomplished. O'Donohue in turn thanked
Alderwoman Jonie Tibbs for keeping on him to get it done.

In
this Jan. 24 file photo, the Aeroscraft airship, a high-tech prototype
airship, is seen inside a World War II-era hangar in Tustin, Calif. The $35
million lighter-than-air dirigible was damaged and began leaking helium when
part of the hangar roof collapsed Monday at a former Marine base
in Southern California, authorities said. The partial collapse was reported just
after 7:45 a.m. at one of the blimp hangars on the grounds of
the former Marine Corps Air Station in Tustin, said Capt. Steve Concialdi of the
Orange County Fire Authority.
