The members of the Oasis Senior Center board of directors recently took a moment for a group photo at their temporary home at St. John United Church of Christ. This week the board made vital decisions about the future of the senior center. Because repair and restoration of the original burn site would be a daunting undertaking financially as well as a lengthy process, the board has voted to purchase Rusty's Clubhouse on the city's west side.

A man looks at "Exit Ball," which features in the "1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair" at Somerset House in London. This work by Benin artist Romuald Hazoume is made from plastic and metal. African tribal art has long been treasured by wealthy Western collectors, but increasingly the continent's contemporary art scene is the one making its presence felt at museums, auction houses and art fairs. London now has four galleries focused on African contemporary art, three of them opening in the past three years.

Thursday night the Mount Pulaski Lady Toppers hosted a "Volley for the Cure" that brought in a total of $2,474, which was given to the family of Michael Stauffer of Mount Pulaski. The gals went up against Riverton and came out on top in two games. The evening was also filled with great family activities and some very good food. See more of the game in the photo albums below.
