MOUNT PULASKI -- For the folks at Mount
Pulaski, the annual fall festival is really just one big happy
reunion as the community comes out into the streets to spend time together as one huge family.
While they wait for the
parade, and then afterward also, many stroll the main part of town,
enjoying good food and drink, and running into friends, neighbors
and acquaintances. They all stop a bit, share their stories
about what they are up to, how many kids and grandkids they have,
and what they are all up to.
Some sat down under the tent
to enjoy a pronto pup; others gathered along the shaded side of the
street with their lawn chairs and waved and chatted with passers-by
throughout the afternoon.
