            [September
			23, 2013]
            The American Legion auxiliaries
at New Holland (Unit 715) and Middletown (Unit 672) are hosting an
event at Lincoln American Legion 263, 1740 Fifth St., on Sunday,
with a variety of activities scheduled between noon and 6:30 p.m.,
when a pork chop dinner will be served. |

            | More than 20 companies will offer merchandise in a vendors' fair
beginning at noon, including Tupperware, Babyations, Pink Zebra,
Origami Owl, Velata, Avon, Perfectly Posh, It Works!, Beauty
Control, Gourmet Cupboard, Scentsy, Paparazzi Accessories, LoveN
Spoonful Cupcakes, Judy Jewlz, Organo Gold, Lia Sophia, 31 and
Tastefully Simple. A bag raffle and quarter auction will begin at 2 p.m., and 50-50
raffle tickets will be sold during the afternoon, with the drawing
to be conducted after the 6:30 dinner hour. The butterfly pork chop dinner will include scalloped potatoes,
green beans, rolls, and coffee or tea. Sons of the American Legion
			are preparing the meal.
Dinner tickets, at $10, may be purchased from planning committee

The purpose of the event is to raise funds for Sharon Conatser,
of Urbana, candidate for 2015-2016 national president of the
American Legion Auxiliary. It has been 45 years since a candidate
won the election to represent Illinois at the national level. Local
auxiliaries want to show their support and stand behind the Illinois
candidate by raising campaign funds at this event. Conatser will be
in attendance to thank auxiliary members and greet visitors at the
event. With the holidays coming soon, those attending may want to take
advantage of the multiple vendors and unique auction items available
to shop for loved ones on their Christmas list. Gather some friends,
come to shop, bid and wrap up the day with a home-cooked meal.
