[September 25, 2013]      Send a link to a friend ATLANTA -- This weekend it was all about
good music, good friends and good times at Hickory Lane Campground
in rural Atlanta.   The second annual Dan Tackett
Bluegrass Jam took place Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday afternoon, Tackett
on the fiddle surrounded by several of his friends treated a packed
house to some good old bluegrass pickin' and singin'. The event was started last
year as part of the Railsplitter Festival. This year
the Railsplitter weekend in Lincoln was canceled, but there were
still things going on in connection with the annual festival,
including the bluegrass jam. In addition to getting to hear
some great music, there was a silent auction going on in the shed at
the campground, with some very nice items being auctioned off, including several
collectibles and antiques. Many of the folks in
attendance had come for the full weekend, and around the campground
there were other activities such as a flea market and 1800s crafts
demonstrations. There was also a food vendor on hand and
plenty of room around the pond for a little fishing.
