Volunteer bash, 6 p.m., at the Logan County Airport

All festival volunteers are invited -- and encouraged -- to "fly over" and pick up their volunteer T-shirt, enjoy pizza, salad, beer or soda, and ice cream, and receive instructions and emergency procedure information.

Thursday, Aug. 25

Festival kickoff party, 5 p.m., at Maple Ridge Care Centre, 2202 N. Kickapoo St.
